This first video of Farming Simulator on console focuses on some new features on Xbox 360 and PS3. An entirely new American backdrop has now been added to the extensive European environment familiar to PC players, which will double the size of the gameplay area in Farming Simulator. Inspired by typical American farms, this new and monumental terrain represents a total change of scene, with new locations, fresh development opportunities for your farm and even bigger fields suitable for the largest agricultural machinery available in the game.
The trailer video presents some of the new vehicles that will expand the huge number of agricultural vehicles and machinery in Farming Simulator. See them in action in the middle of vast fields and at some stunning landmarks in this new American setting! You will also recognize the Case IH Axial-Flow harvester and the Magnum 340. The range of machinery from famous manufacturers, will enable you to carry out your tasks with greater efficiency... particularly on the new game map.
Farming Simulator on PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® still retains all the elements that made the Farming Simulator series so successful by conveying the finer points of agriculture and life on the farm. Here, you will confront the challenges faced by a 21st century farmer and raise livestock, grow crops, sell produce and purchase new vehicles and machinery… manage your own farm every day in a fully open world!
Grab your controllers, because Farming Simulator is scheduled for release on PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® in the first week of September!
Farmville, social game: a toy, barely alive
Gentlemen we can rebuild it
We have the technology
We have the capability to make the worlds first console social game
Farming Simulator will be that game
Better than it was before
Better, Stronger, Faster
I grew up rural. Plenty of country guys play the same video games as the forum members here, but there are many more who primarily interested in hunting, fishing, and farming - even in the virtual sense.
If this simulation is anywhere close to accurate, I'd be interested in it. Farming isn't easy. Profit margins are slim, weather is your frenemy, and good planning ahead of the event is crucial. I've got a couple of brothers doing it for real, and I wonder if I could do any better.

This freaking game will not drop below $10 and I have no idea why. Probably because it IS so popular.

I will buy the game that comes out 2 years from now in an attempt to cash in on this, but with more of the mainstream gaming sensibilities I've come to expect. Flashy, spinning rims on the tractors - which you can improve through microtransactions. DLC that adds additional seasons to the game, and more farm animals - which are required, of course, to make the game fully playable. And a couple of dude-bro avatars fist-bumping as they cornhole sheep out in the barn in the dead of night. Perhaps a stealth mission where you have to sneak past guards to steal eggs from chickens, or rescue the dude-bro who has been captured by angry sheep.
Add in a pig-feeding escort mission, with clunky controls and poor camera angles, and you've got my money!
